how it started
"Me and Rajesh were going at it. He said AI wasn't real, wasn't worth it. I said the world was moving and we needed to stay open. We didn't hold back. Words were exchanged. I apologized.
The whole time — Venky, Sreenath, Uttam, and a few others sat in that room. Silently. Just watching two people argue about whether AI was even worth taking seriously.
But the next morning, Rajesh came back with something that stopped me cold. He said: "Maybe you're not asking us to do AI. Maybe you're asking us to dream. To ask — what's the art of the possible?"
That was the AHA moment.
A small team — Anish, Niraj, Srinath — went to Hyderabad. Dark mode: notifications off, world off, three days together. We jokingly say they went to eat biryani. They did eat biryani. But they also built something: the LA module — Lead Automation, built with AI. Our first real experiment.
It never went live. But the journey started.
Two, three years later — AI is baked into everything. Junaid, PK (Prabhanjan), Isaac, Gopal, Kushal, Kausar — and the list keeps growing. All of them carried the learnings forward. We're bleeding edge now. But we never wrote it down.
aila.fun is the attempt to bring it all alive — before we forget.
